Les Miles coached the LSU football team from 2005 to 2016, leading the Tigers to a national championship in 2007 and compiling a 114-34 record before being fired.
Here's a more detailed look at his time at LSU:
Head Coach: Miles was named LSU's 32nd head football coach on January 3, 2005.
Record: He compiled a 114-34 record during his 11 seasons with the team.
National Championship: He led LSU to a BCS National Championship in 2007.
SEC Championships: He also won two SEC championships in 2007 and 2011.
Firing: Miles was fired from LSU in 2016, after four games into the season, due to a decline in on-field performance.
Post-LSU: After leaving LSU, he went on to coach at Kansas for two seasons, going 3-18.
Lawsuit: Miles has filed a lawsuit against LSU, the NCAA, and the College Football Hall of Fame, claiming that the university's decision to vacate 37 of his wins from 2012-2015 has made him ineligible for Hall of Fame consideration.
He is one the Greatest Coaches in NCAA Football History. Coach Les Miles is 1 of the Top 4 Coaches Head Football Coaches in LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING TIGERS HISTORY.
- 2005 While I was Coaching High School Football at Bonnabel High School during the 2005-2006 football season our coaching staff attended the annual Louisiana High School Athletics Coaches Association LHSAA Coaches Clinic held at the LSU Football indoor Practice facility.
There was a Very Large Massive Crawfish Boil for all the LSU Coaches, High School Coaches and LSU players a Coaches in attendance at the Coaches Clinic. I stood directly next to Head Coach Les Miles and introduced myself and said hello and had e very brief 3-5 minute conversation and while talking he mentioned this was his first time eating crawfish. After introducing myself, and having a conversation I walked him through the steps of peeling and eating the Crawfish. One Great Football Coach and a very nice person as well. One of my Favorite LSU Coaches overall in my lifetime “The Madhatter”.
